Current Desk Accessories that Enhance My Productivity
Desk Accessory 1 - Monitor

A larger, clearer display tackles eye strain and improves productivity since you can multitask efficiently with different windows open. This way, your workflow is neater and more organized. I use a 40-inch LG monitor (40WP95C) at my main desk. The LG monitor is ultrawide, Oled, colour accurate, and helps me see more within a single view so I don't have to switch windows.

Desk Accessory 2 - Webcam

My Opal C1 Webcam sits above my monitor, and I've used it for a year now. Interestingly, a while after I decided I was going to get it, I received one from Opal to try out for a social media collaboration video.

Its design is beautiful, it's compact enough not to cause clutter and I love the high-quality video that it gives. Plus, it has a customization app to customize appearance and image quality while in video meetings.
Desk Accessory 3 - Microphone

While my Webcam has a microphone, as a content creator, I need a dedicated microphone to make videos with high-quality audio across my YouTube channel and social media platforms.

I use the Electro-voice RE 20, a dynamic cardioid microphone perfect for shutting out background noises because it only focuses on sounds in front of it. I chose this microphone above the others (which were all great, too) because I loved the tone of my voice on it.

Desk Accessory 4: Audio Interface

As part of my dedication to high-quality audio for my videos, I use an audio interface as a go-between when I shoot with my microphone, cameras, etc., so that my process is streamlined.
My Rodecaster Duo is the most versatile audio interface I've ever used as a content creator. Plus, the Electro-voice RE 20 and Rodecaster duo combo saves me so much time since I don't have to fix my audio quality post-shoot.
I usually connect this directly to my camera when recording videos for Instagram, but it is super important that you turn the in-camera audio down to 1 to avoid any problems with your camera.
I got it in white because I wanted to maintain my theme.

Desk Accessory 5 - Speakers

I swapped out my Kanto Yu4s for the Yamaha Hs5 studio monitors in white for a couple of reasons: I'd like to explore music production as a hobby, and I need the Yu4s for a different setup (more on this soon). My first choice was the HS8 because of its fuller base and overall tone but I eventually went for the HS5 because of my desk and room size.
To get the best out of it, I have it connected to my Rodecaster Duo with an auxiliary to a quarter-inch cable.

Desk Accessory 6 - Keyboard

Recently, I began to find custom mechanical keyboards fascinating and it's gradually turned into my tinkering hobby. I've built three custom keyboards since I picked up the hobby. The first custom keyboard I built was the Keychron Q2 with brown switches.

And the recent addition to my collection is the Mode Sixty-five by Mode designs.

On Mode’s website, you can find a keyboard configuration that shows you what your custom selections look like before you make the purchase.

As my keyboard plate, I went with polypropylene for the first time and the sound was different. You don't have to build the keyboard if you're not particularly excited about it – you can choose your materials and have Mode build it for you.
Desk Accessory 7 - The Ugmonk Analog

The Ugmonk Analog is a physical to-do list on which you can write your tasks and place them on your desk where you can easily see them and cross them off.

This is probably my favorite desk accessory for productivity because of how effective it makes me. Facing your to-do lists on your desk means that you can't ignore them at all or even forget.

Plus, according to research, the human brain releases dopamine whenever a task is crossed off which makes you feel good, reinforces behaviour, and makes you want to cross off another task.
Bonus Desk Accessory - Charging Station

If like me you have a lot of devices to charge daily, then a charging station is a must-have.
I use the Anker Prime charging station at my Tinker station to avoid cluttering my work desk. This charging station comes with four USBC ports, 250 watts, and can deliver 140 watts in fast charge mode.
